British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Global Britain Report Launch

On Wednesday 27 March 2024, LCCI were pleased to support the launch of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Global Britain Report at Heathrow Airport.

At last year’s Global Annual Conference, the BCC announced the future of the economy programme looking at five of the biggest challenges, and opportunities the country is facing right now: Global Britain, Digital Revolution, People and Work, Green Innovation, and the Local Economy of the Future.

The Global Britain report draws on expertise from industry to develop ambitious and realistic policy proposals to take to government and beyond. The report summarises the approach of the British Chambers of Commerce to helping the UK grow and prosper as an independent nation. It covers an analysis of the world’s place in Britain, summarising our history in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and proposing recommendations to improve our impressive track record.

Speaking at the launch event, LCCI's Director of Membership and Events Liz Henderson commented:

“The report highlights what is needed to ensure the UK competes effectively on a global scale. As its capital city London needs to underpin this with a strong modern narrative, positioning it as an attractive destination for trade and inward investment. LCCI, with its community of over 8,000 business contacts ranging from micros to large corporates has a significant role to play in pushing this agenda, advocating on behalf of members, and working tirelessly to ensure London is the best city in the world to do business.”
