East London business welcomes Silvertown consultation

Commenting on the opening of Transport for London's consultation on the package of river crossings at Silvertown, Janette Withey, Chairman of East London Chamber of Commerce (incorporating Docklands Business Club) said:

"The Chamber has long lobbied for more and better river crossings east of Tower Bridge, as better connections from North to South will be vital in stimulating the economic growth expected in the area.

"Creating better transport links across the river will enable businesses to reach a wider customer base and allow employees to commute to work more easily and speedily.

"We welcome this consultation as a vital next step in making the existing plans for river crossings a reality."
